FIVE 17-SYLLABLE NERVOUS NOISES POEMS

FIVE 17-SYLLABLE
NERVOUS NOISES POEMS

1

She hears the floors creak,
the pipes whistle, and she tells me
“Just go to sleep.”

2

I blame myself. Who in his right mind
reads Lovecraft before dozing off?

3

Maybe there are lost souls
caught inside the bedroom walls.
Are they weeping?

4

Noises should be self-assertive,
not namby-pamby sounds
that scare mice.

5

Writing poems,
I prefer the titter of random sounds,
not of silence.

  1. LOL@reading Lovecraft before turning out the lights - that is enough to ensure the night jitters!

Great energy in these pieces Sal :)
